¿Qué es Axie Infinity?

Axie Infinity es el nombre de un juego online del estilo PvP (PlayervsPlayer), Pay-to-Win y Pay-to-Earn, que funciona gracias a la tecnología blockchain de Ethereum.

Fue lanzado en 2018 por la compañía originaria de Vietnam, Sky Mavis. Dentro del juego, el jugador debe crear personajes que son representados por medio de un token NFT, esto los convierte en coleccionables digitales, los cuales pueden ser mejorados para ganar batallas y así conseguir criptomonedas que puedes usar para mejorar a tu personaje, conseguir uno nuevo o negociarlos para conseguir más beneficios.

Esto ha hecho de Axie Infinity uno de los juegos blockchain más populares del mundo crypto, haciéndole la competencia a juegos como Sorare, CryptoKitties y The Sandbox.

“Axie Infinity” es un videojuego en el que tienes que reunir a los personajes más fuertes, criaturas que vas a poder utilizar para pelear ante otros jugadores o contra la IA del juego (Por eso es PvP). El objetivo es que hagas mejores a tus criaturas para de esta manera luchar contra más jugadores y así poder ganar más criptomonedas conforme tu nivel crece. Tienes la posibilidad de mejorar cada uno de los personajes, porque cada Axie tiene ciertas cualidades que puedes ir mejorando conforme vayas añadiendo mejoras a las mismas, lo que te coloca en mejor posición al momento de enfrentar a rivales fuertes.

Se sostiene sobre blockchain

Sumado a lo que ya hemos mencionado, y funcionando sobre la tecnología blockchain, los Axies cuentan con ciertas características únicas e irrepetibles entre ellos. Hablemos un con ejemplo, un Axie puede tener una “genética digital” que lo hará más resistente a ciertas ofensivas. Del mismo modo, esa misma “genética digital” le va a permitir tener fortalezas que solo ese Axie puede tener, y eso puede ser favorable para su crianza. En otras palabras, cada Axie es único y tu capacidad como creador le hará explotar la máxima posibilidad del mismo o no.

Esta dinámica de juego no es para nada nueva, es muy parecida a la que vemos en los juegos como Pokemon, solo que, esta vez, podrás ganar dinero con tus Axies.

Axie Infinity funciona sobre la tecnología blockchain de Ethereum, con la función de construir dos tokens únicos para el juego, nos referimos a los tokens AXS y SLP. Te explicaremos que son cada uno de estos tokens:

AXS

El token AXS o Axie Infinity Shard, es un token del tipo ERC-20 de Ethereum que permite a los usuarios recibir sus beneficios por su participación en el juego. Un ejemplo, pudiéramos tomar nuestro AXS y hacer un staking de él por lo que conseguiremos intereses que se van a sumar a nuestras ganancias finales. Además, se pueden usar los AXS para participar en la gobernanza descentralizada del juego e impulsar el desarrollo de Axie Infinity.

AXS fue creado recientemente, se hizo público en noviembre de 2020, y por ese motivo gran parte de sus funciones aún no están del todo implementadas. Sin embargo, el propósito de AXS es ofrecer un acceso fácil y rápido a un sistema de finanzas descentralizadas que funcionará para motivar el uso del juego y que su desarrollo se mantenga.

Cabe destacar, que el suministro de tokens AXS tiene un límite total de 270.000.000, por lo que va a ser un token que cuenta con un límite en su existencia, esto hace que tenga amplio potencial de revalorización.

SLP

El token SLP o Small Love Potion, es un token del tipo ERC-20 que funciona para recibir las recompensas por cada batalla que ganes en el juego Axie Infinity. Cabe destacar, que Axie Infinity es un videojuego PvP, por cada victoria recibirás una recompensa de “puntos de experiencia” o más bien, tokens SLP que posteriormente podrás utilizar como quieras.

Los tokens SLP son muy importantes para el videojuego. Ejemplo, si quieres comenzar a criar un Axie, debes tener como mínimo 100 SLP de saldo para hacerlo. Si deseas hacer mejor a tu Axie, las mejoras tendrán coste en SLP, y si quieres tener a más Axies, debes hacer mayores gastos en SLP.

Para comenzar en Axie Infnity solo tienes que ir a la página oficial de Axie Infinity, y clickar en “Play Now”. Cuando estés ahí, tendrás que descargar la herramienta Mavis Hub en tu sistema operativo. El próximo paso será instalar Mavis Hub en tu computador, y crear una cuenta en este sistema.

Comienza a jugar

Para poder crear tu cuenta (desde Axie Infinity) vas a tener tres opciones que son las siguientes:

Si es la primera vez que juegas, tendrás que usar la Ronin Wallet para crearla. Luego de haber creado la Ronin Wallet, puedes hacer un enlace entre este monedero y MetaMask, así podrás usar MetaMask para el manejo de tu cuenta de Axie Infinity. Lo siguiente que debes hacer es descargar la Ronin Wallet en tu PC. Descargas la wallet en tu navegador (Firefox o Chrome) y cuando termines, tendrás que configurar la Ronin Wallet.

Luego de hacer los tres logins, entrarás a Mavis y allí solo tendrás que tocar en “Install” y así se instalará todo lo necesario para que juegues a Axie Infinity en tu computador.

El juego requiere inversión, hacerlo bajo su propia responsabilidad.‍

En conclusión, si dedicas como mínimo 6 horas al juego, con una buena estrategia para sacar el máximo partido a tu Axie en modo historia y arena, puedes lograr ganar entre 150 a 200 SLP por día. Esto significa, que puedes ganar diariamente unos 30 a 40 $ en el mejor de los casos, una muy buena cantidad de dinero, si tenemos en cuenta que lo generas jugando y divirtiéndote.
