Robinhood Chain’s Tokenized Stocks Surge in Daily DEX Volume, Outpacing Solana Venues

Robinhood Chain’s Tokenized Stocks Outshine Solana’s Volumes

Within a mere three weeks following its launch, Robinhood Chain, the new blockchain developed by Robinhood, has outperformed Solana platforms in terms of tokenized stock trading volume. The trade of tokenized stocks on the Robinhood Chain averaged at a staggering $29.7 million daily volume on decentralized exchanges (DEX) over the previous week. This amount surpasses the combined trading volume of Solana’s two stock-trading platforms, xStocks and Backpack’s Sunrise, which are reported to have daily volumes of $11.1 million and $13.4 million, respectively.

Purpose of Robinhood Chain

Robinhood’s objective in building this unique chain was to tokenize equities. Until mid-July, the network’s activity predominantly revolved around memecoin speculation. However, this only changed after tokens attached to tokenized stocks as their liquidity pairs were launched. This development spun a cycle that sequestered real equity supply in pools and subsequently stirred up stock trading. These recent events suggest an intriguing pattern. If the pattern persists, Robinhood Chain can serve as an ideal channel for tokenized equities to gain traction among retail investors – a feat existing Real-World Asset (RWA) platforms have been trying to achieve for years.

The Most Traded Stocks

At present, tokenized Nvidia appears to be the most extensively traded stock on Robinhood Chain, boasting $13.9 million in trading volume in the last 24 hours. Closely following Nvidia are SpaceX, Apple, and GameStop, with daily trading volumes of $6.2 million, $4.5 million, and $2.2 million respectively.

Robinhood’s Vision for Equities

Robinhood CEO, Vlad Tenev, has emphasized that the fundamental purpose of creating the Robinhood Chain was to enhance the trade of equities. Their vision is to make real-world assets programmable and globally transferable while ensuring that they are always available with the exceptional product quality that Robinhood is known for.

Launch Platforms and Memecoins

The surge in trading volume on Robinhood Chain is credited to launch platforms like Bankr and long.xyz, which started allowing users to issue memecoins supported by tokenized stock liquidity across over 90 tickers since mid-July. Currently, these pairs dominate the trending list on Robinhood Chain. Indeed, memecoins trading against prominent stocks like Nvidia, Tesla, Intel, Roblox, and SPCX are among the top 100 pools on Robinhood Chain.

Tokenized Stocks and Memecoins

Deposited shares are locked while these pairs are traded, thereby triggering stock-token volume in the form of a byproduct. Over the past week, the number of daily active tokenized-stock traders on the chain peaked above 20,000 – a figure that towers over any other stock token platform.

Binance’s Dominance

Despite these impressive stats, Robinhood Chain’s numbers are yet dwarfed by Binance’s platform. Binance’s bStocks on the BNB chain averaged a daily DEX volume of $676.8 million over the same period, overshooting Robinhood’s figures by more than twenty-fold.

The Future of Tokenized Stocks

At this juncture, tokenized stocks continue to be a tiny fraction of the Robinhood Chain. The chain recorded approximately $444 million in total DEX volume over the past day, whereas total value locked amounted to about $332.7 million. The bulk of this volume comprises memecoins, while real-world assets on the chain account for about $81 million in active market value, compared to $489 million in stablecoins. Regardless of these statistics, when it comes to handling tokenized stocks onchain, Robinhood Chain outperforms any Solana venue. This is a considerable achievement considering it’s only been three weeks since Robinhood Chain’s launch. This accomplishment attests to the platform’s potential in revolutionizing the domain of tokenized equities. As it continues to foster, only time will divulge the true magnitude of the impact Robinhood Chain will have on the trading of real-world assets in the virtual realm.
