Driving Equity Supply: Robinhood Chain Leads in Tokenized Stocks DEX Volume Surpassing Solana Venues

The latest digital exchange volume figures show that Robinhood Chain, which incorporates tokenized stocks, averaged $29.7 million daily over the past week. Compared to the combined figures from Solana’s two stock-trading platforms (xStocks with $11.1 million and Sunrise’s $13.4 million), Robinhood Chain has exhibited notable strength in the marketplace. OKX’s Web3 wallet team’s Dune dashboard maintains these statistics.

Robinhood Chain’s Introduction in the Market

Robinhood created its proprietary chain intending to introduce equities into the blockchain world. Until mid-July, memecoin speculation strongly dominated network activity on Robinhood Chain. However, the long-awaited influx of volume came via the same memecoins. These objectified stocks launched with memecoins used as liquidity pairs, resulting in locked real equity supply in pools. This situation, in turn, encouraged stock trading nearly simultaneously.

If this pattern continues, Robinhood Chain could potentially provide a retail gateway into the tokenized equities space. This achievement is something real-world asset (RWA) platforms have been trying to establish for years.

Most Traded Tokenized Stocks

The most frequently traded stock on the chain is represented by tokenized Nvidia, which recorded $13.9 million in volume over the past 24 hours. Other popular stocks include SpaceX at $6.2 million, Apple at $4.5 million, and GameStop at $2.2 million.

Robinhood CEO, Vlad Tenev, signaled an intention to make real-world assets programmable, globally portable, and consistently accessible through Robinhood Chain. Tenev further highlighted Robinhood’s quality commitment as a crucial platform feature.

The Surge of Memecoins

Launch platforms Bankr and long.xyz started enabling users to generate memecoins supported by tokenized stock liquidity on more than 90 tickers in mid-July. These memecoins paired with NVDA, TSLA, INTC, RBLX, and SPCX, made it to Robinhood Chain’s top 100 pools. A prominent example is Artificial Inu (AI/NVDA), which registered $2.6 million in daily volume.

Putting tokenized shares as pool collateral means that memecoin trading indirectly produces stock-token volume. The locked shares remain in place while the pairs are traded. The number of daily active tokenized-stock traders on Robinhood Chain peaked above 20,000 during the week of July 20. This landmark represents the most significant figure for any stock-token platform currently monitored.

Overall Market Snapshot

However, it’s essential to view these numbers within a larger context. Binance’s bStocks platform on BNB Chain averaged a daily DEX volume of $676.8 million over the same seven days – more than 20-fold Robinhood’s figure.

Similarly, Robinhood Chain’s tokenized stocks represent only a fraction of its total volume. The overall cleared DEX volume on Robinhood Chain exceeded $444 million over the past 24 hours, with a total locked value of $332.7 million. Understandably, the majority of this volume comes from memecoins such as CASHCAT and PONS.

Contrarily, real-world assets on the chain account for around $81 million in active market value, compared to stablecoins holding approximately $489 million. Solana, therefore, surpasses Robinhood Chain on overall DEX volume, value locked, and users. However, when the focus is solely on tokenized stocks trading onchain, Robinhood Chain outperforms any Solana platform, establishing its potential just three weeks into being operational.

As the crypto asset class continues to evolve and matures, platforms like Robinhood Chain play a significant role in expanding the engagement and accessibility of traders, investors, and users.
