Aave Makes Big Strides with its Mobile App
On Wednesday, Aave, a renowned name in the finance sector, began onboarding early adopters of its mobile app on the iOS platform. This move marked a significant advance in its consumer savings service, now in early access. While this begins a new chapter for iOS users, users on other platforms such as Android and the web are eagerly awaiting their turn, as they remain on the waitlist for now.
The Power of Ghost Passes
The announcement about the phased onboarding process isn’t the first time Aave has made headlines. But it certainly positions Aave at the forefront of the mobile app store industry. Aave’s founder, Stani Kulechov, additionally highlighted the introduction of “Ghost Passes,” an innovative feature that lets users invite friends to bypass the waitlist, thereby enhancing user engagement and expanding Aave’s reach through its current user base.
Exploring Aave Mobile App
The Aave mobile app, even before the official announcement, had made its way into Apple’s app store and had shown signs of a recent update. However, the Wednesday announcement ushered in a new wave of users. According to the product page at present, Aave’s mobile segment focuses primarily on a savings app. The app encourages users to deposit, earn and withdraw while providing options to connect bank accounts and debit cards. This streamlined process adds to the efficiency and effectiveness of Aave’s service.
Support for Stablecoin Wallets
The Aave mobile app also integrates a stablecoin wallet, extending support for seamless deposits and withdrawals on Arbitrum. Once funds are deposited, these assets start accruing yield via open lending markets. Aave explains that while the assets are provided to the lending pools, borrowers pay an interest amount that eventually benefits the depositors.
The current product page doesn’t promote direct borrowing or user-directed trading features. But Aave Labs, in July, had announced several target features, including card fees, asset swaps, and foreign-exchange products. These additions are set to roll out during 2026 with the swap and foreign exchange capabilities yet to be developed and prepared for launch.
Feature of Stable Vaults
Stable Vaults, another salient feature, supports multiple stablecoins and enables easy swap of commonly denominated stablecoins for one-to-one redemption. This distinctive feature enriches the vaults savings infrastructure, refraining from being a blanket trading tool in the app.
Security Features of Aave App
Despite its fintech-style login and recovery features, Aave emphasizes the self-custodial nature of the app. According to the app’s terms, the embedded wallet generates and securely stores private keys localized to the user’s device. Aave Labs doesn’t take possession of users’ assets or keys, bolstering the privacy and security of user assets.
Further Plans of Aave Labs
Back in July, Aave Labs reported approximately 50,000 registered users on its iOS waitlist. They also announced that identity checks on the waitlist were solely open to U.S. users at the time. The mobile app, as per its terms, makes access contingent upon local law and restricts users in sanctioned and other listed limited jurisdictions.
Aave Labs’ Retail Expansion
Aave Labs’ retail distribution venture expanded further with its significant acquisition of Stable Finance in October 2025. Stable Finance was the expert team behind an iOS app tailor-made for stablecoin savings. Aave plans to phase out the existing app by Stable, incorporating its technology into future Aave products.
Stable Vaults are now the driving force behind the savings layer in the Aave app. They are also available to fintechs interested in embedding stablecoin yield. Broader distribution still remains the subsequent step, with Android and web users continuing to be directed to the waitlist as of Wednesday.
